This just made my day! Jessica (aka the Budget Savvy Bride) has chose me for a kick ass blogger award! So it is pretty rare that I have a night where I have no design work to do. Usually when I can get away with not working into the night I do whatever I can to put away my computer and look at the real world for a while However, tonight was an exception. I have yet to do an inspiration board, i think mostly because there are just so many amazing ideas out there that trying to narrow them down into just a few images would seem so confining. 

However, now that i have my dress, the church, the reception venue (still trying not to jinx this) and more of a vision of what MY wedding will be like, I was able to put together a few boards. Yes, a few. I still couldn’t narrow it down to just one :) 

Here are the first two boards. This first one is the fashion board. I do already have my dress, and it is lace, which I am so so happy with. I love the look of the mans grey suit, the woman’s headband, the clean look of pearls, and the uniform look of bridesmaids

This next one is rings and paper. I love the idea of the accordion program, and will most likely use it. The ring bowl from Palomas Nest is very modern and would be perfect to keep our rings in on an everyday basis. The three rings below are gorgeous. I will have to show a picture of my ring one day, it is not your average engagement ring, and I kind of enjoy watching people try to find something sweet to say when they see it… is that evil? Anyways, the ring with the 4 bigger diamonds on it, that it the kind of wedding band I would like (*ahem*).  The paper suite on the bottom right is just executed so well.

Ok, sorry for this short post. Work is busy today and I am writing this as I am sitting here on my lunch break watching What Not to Wear and eating a McDonald’s Southern Chicken sandwich (mmmm). Here is a recap of my weekend:

Met with the reception venue coordinator again, and I don’t want to jinx it, but this is the place!

Received an email from a local gelato place, they do catering!

I think we made a decision on our favors, but it is too early to divulge :) 

Spent some more of our engagement money (thanks future in-laws!). I never knew that mixing bowls, spoon rests and measuring cups could make me so happy!

Oh, and something I have learned: When you have a budget, save a little bit of it in an ‘extra’ file. We have gone over a little on both my dress and the reception venue, and since I budgeted every last dollar, I have had to pull from here and there and get creative. Leave yourself some room, that way “going over” really won’t be going over, it will just bring you right to where you need to be :)

Ok, so we have talked about the cake, or lack there of.  We have been thinking of dessert alternatives, and I love the idea of having an ice cream or even better, a gelato cart at the reception!  This one would be perfect! Too bad they are in New York…

If “it’s the brides wedding, she gets whatever she wants and the groom gets to sit down and shut up” were true for us. (Thank God it isn’t, but I do love this palette!) From here.

I was just reading on design sponge about the holiday line over at amenity.  Now maybe I just have weddings on the brain (haha understatement much?) but these “ornaments” would be some super cute decor on a place card tree, in centerpieces, even cake toppers with a little know-how!
