MOB-palooza

Inspired by Paula’s comment about her moms nordstrom dress, I have gathered the following possibilities:

Also, a few bridesmaid looks, although the one with the two colors is too expensive, and i am not sure i like the beading on the other one…

And one of their newer wedding dresses. Not sure how I feel about the look of the wave thingy in the front, but I like that they are offering a more structured option.

Whew, that is a lot of dresses… Hopefully we will be able to dress everyone in the wedding party before the year is up!

dedicated to all of the MOBs out there

I am going to put it right out there, my mom is not the dress-up kind. (mom, you know it is true, don’t try to fight it :) ) If she could wear some nice walking shorts and a t-shirt to the wedding, she would be the happiest person on the face of the earth. However once she saw the church that B and I will be married in, she came to the realization of “oh, I have to find a dress”.  So I scoured the wedding blogs and came up with some pictures of what other MOBs wore on their daughters big day, just for some ideas :)

Conflict free diamonds?

Does anyone out there know anything about the Diamond company Brilliant Earth? I like the idea of buying conflict free and they have what we want, but I am wary of buying our rings online. Any advice?

making our home pretty

So B and I recently combined lives, into his one bedroom apartment :) Maybe one day when we are totally settled I will show before and after pictures, but for today I wanted to talk about our new dressers. At my last apartment I had a huge closet and so I didn’t buy a dresser. Bryan had two dressers, one that was his ex’s from her childhood apparently and the other was this blue one from ikea… both had broken drawers… so we were very excited when this past weekend we went to Ikea and bought two of these for Bryan:

And since the Hemnes dresser I want is out of stock and costs $150 to ship, I am thinking about getting this matching taller dresser:

There is just something about it that is blah to me. I like the look of the short ones though, and the idea of having matching dressers (quite a concept, i know). So I was thinking about buying some cool knobs to dress them up a bit. I found all of these at Anthropologie!

They are a little pricey so I may go check out the local antique stores for some cheaper finds, but all in all I think there is hope for the blah dresser!

copy cat

Ok, so these are the exact wedding flowers that I want. Am I copying another bride? Sure. But isn’t that really just a form of flattery? These flowers are from a wedding found on the bride’s cafe

Um, so yeah, probably the most gorgeous bouquets I have seen in my color palette yet. The marigold would go so great with dark grey dresses for the girls. (if we end up getting marigold dresses then maybe all white bouquets? Or just a few marigold ranunculus with a lot of white ones? We will cross that bridge when we come to it.) The bridge I am at right now: clashing flower charts! I have found one here that says ranunculus are in season every season… but this one says only February -May (I’m in July)… I did notice that they stopped selling them at the farmers market a month or so back… does anyone know? Have you seen ranunculus in weddings in July? I guess they could fly them in from somewhere… but that can get expensivo.

target love (kind of)

Ok, so I love love love love target. Shop there all the time. And I fully planned on registering there… Until I read this. So sad. However, they do offer a lot of great items for the wedding itself.  They have a large assortment of favor boxes:

And they also have kind of cute invitation sets!

The one below is super cute in person… however I couldn’t find it on their site, so I am not sure if they sell it anymore. Image courtesy of In this Instance.

movin’ and shakin’

Did everyone here in So Cal survive the earthquake? This was the first earthquake I have been in while at work and i wasn’t sure if getting under my desk was still an appropriate response so I just sat there… IM’ing B and one of my maids if they were alive… they were :) Gotta love California!

Dear J. Crew,

Since I promote your brand all the time, I was thinking, If you would like to thank me for all of the business I (could totally be) sending your way, feel free to send any of these outfits to me. You know, to show your appreciation and all.

Best,
Heather

PS. Go ahead and send me 7 of these dresses (but can you make them in grey? thanks), and one pair of these shoes, size 8 1/2. Love ya!
