if we are gonna do it, let’s do it.
So we are planning a pretty non-traditional wedding reception. Cocktails and hor dourves instead of a seated dinner, only a first/father-daughter/mother-son dance, and, I thought, no cake. But as we were talking to my parents the other day and I mentioned our lack of cake, Bryan shot me this look of “whaaaaaaaaaat?!” Hmm… ok, so a cake… If we are going to do it, can I have this one please?

Or this one?

I like the second one. I never said no cake.
Make that I never said we HAD to have a cake.
i like both of these cakes, i feel the same way.. a simple elegant cake is all i need… as long as it tastes realllly good!
I don’t think the look of the cake matters, just that you have one! I went to a wedding last weekend and they didn’t have cake and everyone was like whhhhhhhhat? They also didn’t have any music or dancing!
I like the second one, but finding something like that affordably might be tough. We had a terrible time finding a affordable cake, and we want something pretty simple (I think those smooth frostings are harder). We finally have, thank goodness, through a local bakery. God, it was a pain in the *ss though!
Also, I’m in the don’t want it? Ditch it! Camp. But… it sounds like someone does want it

We’re having a cocktail reception, too. I’m very excited. We decided to do no cake but instead to have a couple of different cheesecakes because it’s our favorite dessert. My gram and I are also baking mini apple pies for the favors so there is another dessert option.
I like the simplicity of the first one and that might work really well with your colors but I keep going to the second one…
