update
Ok, sorry for this short post. Work is busy today and I am writing this as I am sitting here on my lunch break watching What Not to Wear and eating a McDonald’s Southern Chicken sandwich (mmmm). Here is a recap of my weekend:
Met with the reception venue coordinator again, and I don’t want to jinx it, but this is the place!
Received an email from a local gelato place, they do catering!
I think we made a decision on our favors, but it is too early to divulge :)
Spent some more of our engagement money (thanks future in-laws!). I never knew that mixing bowls, spoon rests and measuring cups could make me so happy!
Oh, and something I have learned: When you have a budget, save a little bit of it in an ‘extra’ file. We have gone over a little on both my dress and the reception venue, and since I budgeted every last dollar, I have had to pull from here and there and get creative. Leave yourself some room, that way “going over” really won’t be going over, it will just bring you right to where you need to be :)

We have set aside a miscellaneous budget for just that reason. It’s already coming in handy too, but hopefully we won’t still go over too much. On the topic of venues, we looked at several that were all very great but when we walked into the one we finally chose we just knew. We had the perfect feeling looking around and all the other details just fell into place perfectly during the consultation. So good luck on landing your perfect venuee! This is my first visit to your blog too, love it!
