ugh
So I wore these shoes today (scroll to the bottom) and a man in the elevator goes “nice minnie mouse shoes.” He said he was just pulling my leg… whatever. Not the best way to start off the week.
These flowers make me feel a little better.

etiquette question
Ok, I need your help. Yesterday at lunch my sister (MOH) and I were talking about my wedding shower. It is still months away and we were just talking generalities. I mentioned that depending on how many women there were, she may want to split it up into 2 showers. So last night I sat down and went through our guest list, separating out the men, then separating it in to women in the family and women friends. All in all we have about 50 women. However, over 20 of them live out of State. Like, I am in California and they all live in Alaska, New Jersey, Georgia and Florida.
So here is my dilemma, is it proper etiquette to invite every woman, no matter where she lives/you know she isn’t coming?
I don’t mind inviting everyone, no matter if they aren’t going to come or not. I don’t want anyone to feel as if they aren’t invited to my shower. But I don’t want it to look like I am just asking for gifts by inviting people I know won’t come. It looks as if there will be 30 women invited that are in-state, which can easily be accommodated in one party. Does inviting people I am almost positive won’t come mean we need to plan for more? Just in case? I am a planner, an organizer, and kind of a control freak when I am in charge of stuff so I am sure I am over thinking this. So, help a girl out
What is proper etiquette for this situation, and what are you doing when it comes to your out-of-town guests?
Thanks!

pretty much
The computer lab guy at CSUF used to say that if you didn’t learn your shortcuts, it would take 5 years to graduate.

last… but first
I want to give a big thank you! to Caroline for sharing more about her gorgeous peacock-inspired wedding. Although this post is the last one on her wedding, it should have been first, because the invitation suite really sets the tone for your wedding. It is the first thing your guests will see, and you want it to reflect the kind of wedding they can expect. I definitely think Caroline’s invite did just that. It is elegant yet playful, signaling a gorgeous, yet still fun, wedding
A friend of hers designed it and I think it came out beautifully! I love the idea of having the invite and RSVP on one page and perforating it. It saves money, time, and is definitely unique. Last night I hit up Michael’s for my 50% family discount and checked to see if Martha had added a perforated blade to her collection. Nope. Why not Martha?? You have everything else! Sorry, back to the invite.

What did I tell you? Beautiful. Thanks again for sharing Caroline!

around the corner
I love the look of these corners. My little sister works for Michael’s Craft Store and this week is their appreciation week so family members get 50% off of everything! I will be stocking up on some great stuff, and will keep my eye out for a corner rounder that does this

shake your tail feathers
Caroline from yesterday’s peacock inspired wedding has been nice enough to share a few more details from her big day. Bridesmaid gifts are turning out to be a difficult thing for me. I had planned on getting them these, but the price went up and lets not forget that I have 7 bridesmaids… My mom wants me to go the jewelry route, and with the help of Caroline, I am newly inspired to start picking out the perfect pieces for each girl. Caroline gave each one of her sisters a peacock inspired necklace from etsy to wear with their green dresses. How gorgeous are they?!
