My great-aunt's engagement ring is similar to yours, and I always coveted it. Your glee is so wonderful to read about. (But I also loved the original engagement ring. I have the same one with an emerald. Sometimes when I'm on call at the hospital, I wear my emerald instead of my engagement ring. It is a perfect ring - perfect heft, perfect taste.)
