real wedding

Sorry for the late post today! I woke up with a migraine and the last place I want to be with one of those is staring at the computer :) It is dying down now so I thought it would be the perfect time to post the first part of this real wedding!  My good friend Matthew Morgan shot this wedding and I did the editing work :) Stay tuned for more of the wedding later today! (btw, I love the picture of the guys playing horseshoes before the wedding! Oh to be that relaxed ;) )

I believe in one God, and that He has a path for each of us. A quote from our engaged encounter that I enjoyed was “Striving for unity, not happiness, is the primary goal of Christian marriage.” Here are today’s questions.

1. How is God calling us to be one?

2. How do I feel when I hear that unity, rather than happiness, is the number one goal of our marriage? What is my understanding of unity in marriage?

3. If we each have a different faith, have I shared my concerns over how we will each worship?

I have conceded that my hair will be up for the wedding day :) I love these two images. The bride in the first one is simply gorgeous and I love her hair!

My name: Heather
Fiancees name: Bryan
Time I wake up: 7:30

This mornings events:

2:56 am
Random #: U should leav brendon now
I am thinking that it is way to early to be getting a text message. I contemplate writing the person back but it is just too early. I then proceed to have a dream that I am dating Bryan’s brother who’s name is Brendan. We discuss me staying in California and him staying in New York.  Strange.

4:07 am
Random #: This is kristinas boyfriend
Too early to care

6:44 am
Random #: This is kristinas boyfriend
I realize that he isn’t gonna stop until I write him back (or leave brenden) so I text him back.
Me: I think you have the wrong number… My fiancées name is Bryan. Don’t know a brendon or kristina.

6:49 am
Random #: O i c ur his sister how is the baby
Are you serious right now dude? I just said I don’t know a brenden or kristina and now you think i am his sister??!!
Me: Wrong again. No baby no brenden. I’m trying to sleep dude.

6:52 am
Random #: Ur rite dam sry this is kegan
I didn’t write anything back. Although I almost feel like calling him and being like “Keeeegan! Why didn’t you say it was you?! How is Kristina? Dude, I am thinking about leaving Brenden, should I do it? I don’t want to mess up my baby though.”

everything is better with a plan(ner)

I need to go buy myself a moleskine like, today. I gave up my trusted paper and pen planner for my new phone… telling myself I had to get with the times. Well, screw the times. I need my paper and pen planner! I think I am going to go this route:

This guy tells about his moleskine organization skills, and you can see the detailed flickr one here.

big day

It’s a big day for the country :)

And on my big day (totally sucky segue, i know) (also, i had to look up how to spell segue because it is totally random and kept coming up with hits for segway vehicles…. interesting.) Ok I need to start again. On my big day, Bryan wants to replicate the look of my grandfather on his wedding day with the white suit jacket and black pants. This guy pulls it off nicely :)

We all know by now that we can not change our significant other, right? Good. I mean, if they feel like changing because of the example you set, then great, but dating someone with the expectation of change is just trouble.  Here are todays questions:

1. What specific changes would I like to see you make once we are married?

2. What do I expect of myself as your wife/husband? What do I expect of you as my husband/wife? (This one was good for us. I was able to ask Bryan exactly what he expected of me, specifically finances wise.)

3. Are we on the same page when it comes to handling the assets and debts we each bring to the marriage? How will we do this?

4. What is more important to me in a job, the amount of money earned or the level of job satisfaction?

white wedding

Since ranunculus are out of season mid summer (total bummer) I have been checking out other flowers for the bouquets. Some front runners:

Dahlias (but more white, less pink)

And lisianthus (also all white). I like the idea of the hydrangeas in there…
