We Met in a Bar

i’m a slacker

So…. my posts have been few and far between these days. I have a good excuse, I promise.

A few months back my company started paying us late. We rely solely on investors and, in case you haven’t noticed, the economy kind of sucks, and people are holding on to their money. As of today I am owed a full months pay.

I have been interviewing other places, but apparently so has the ENTIRE WORLD. I interviewed at an eye doctor office, passed his test and thought I did extremely well. I called two days later, left a message and heard nothing.  I got a letter in the mail saying that although I was in the top 12 of the over 300 resumes he received, the temp he had hired to fill in throughout the hiring process decided she would like to stay.

Oh and the other job I interviewed for… apparently I said too much about my personal life when I said I was getting married soon. My bad.

So this week I took off and have been down at my moms, filing and doing inventory, making a little bit of cash. Good for my wallet, not so good for my blogging.  I try to catch up at night but right now I have another freelance project taking up my evenings. Again, good for my wallet, not so good for the blog. I will get better, I promise.

Technically I am not unemployed, and I am thankful for that, but I am pretty much working for free. Which sucks. I am thinking tomorrow is the day I confront my boss.

My mom said that I should get even, but that I probably shouldn’t take a gun. Thanks for that mom. :)

UPDATE: I need one of these videos, via here.

I agree with your mom, leave the guns at home. ;-)

In all seriousness, I commend your ability to keep it together. I think I would be going crazy right now so I give you a lot of credit. With that said, working for free sounds positively awful. My fingers are crossed that a better opportunity pops up soon!

That is awful. I hope something good comes along, or at least that your boss catches up your pay for the time being.

Wait, you told them you were getting married, and that was too much? I says, “pardon?”!
