label mock up
I love the look of the wrap around label. I know there is a template from Martha out there but I went ahead and made my own. Again it needs some tweaking, a little more design to it, but it is pretty much there
I can’t decide if I should print it onto sticker backed paper or on regular paper and then just buy one of those Xyron sticker machines. How did you do yours?
Note, the envelope will be grey, but blue was the closest I had

Uh-oh heather! Be careful showing your address on here!
I haven’t sent out invitations yet, but I have to say that buying a Xyron was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I bought it with the expectation of making labels to put on our favors and have used it for a zillion other projects in the meantime, including address labels. For the invites I sent out for my sister’s baby shower, I used my Xyron to turn a decorative baby shower print into a frame of sorts and then I printed the actual addresses on pale yellow paper that I then ran through the Xyron. I wouldn’t recommend anything smaller than the 5″ Xyron, however. The mechanism for putting on the adhesive is different in the smaller versions and, IMO, doesn’t work as well.
We used wrap around labels for our save the dates and they were awesome!! We used rubber cement to apply them and it was so easy and so clean looking … you can just wipe away any excess. Also we used a gold envelope and a dark label which I think would be pretty with your grey envelopes!
I just did these for my save-the-dates (as in…last night) and I just used regular paper and then a little spray adhesive. Worked like a charm and they look loverly.
so pretty! and i love the envelope too…the long flap is unique and eye catching!
Very cute! I’d have to say I just bought 8.5 x 11 full label sheets, printed my design and address on those, then cut them myself with an xacto. It worked well and wasn’t too time consuming. The Xyron is nice, but I’m not sure how quickly you’ll go through the xyron tape with wrap around labels, so in the end it might end up costing you more than you want to pay (our labels were roughly 8 inches long). Plus, I’m not sure you’ll want labels thicker than a standard sticker. It’s ultimately up to you, but those are just my thoughts. You can check out my labels on my blog.
For our save the dates I printed about 8 labels on an 8.5×11 sheet of text weight paper and then ran it through the Xyron and then cut them out with a paper trimmer. It was surprisingly quick and painless! I definitely recommend the Xyron.
I did wrap around labels as well and printed them out on 8.5 x 11″ Avery labels. I blogged about how these sticker labels were the best wedding product ever – really has saved me with DIY projects. It was really easy to cut them down to size and I used edge punches to make them a little fancier.
Love the color of your envelopes!
love it. I did this for my save the date envelopes. Seriously, it was sooo easy. I printed them on full Avery label sheets “White Shipping Labels” 8.5 x 11 Full sheet white labels. Then I cut them in strips with my paper cutter and applied away. The easiest project and my recepients loved them!
I love this idea. I’m still just gathering inspiration and I hadn’t seen this before. I would say either the avery labels or glue stick (which has never failed me on any other project).
