mock it up
So this past weekend I got started on some of my wedding projects that aren’t necessary for a few months, but I just couldn’t wait
The first of which is the kids activity book for during the reception. I plan on doing a full on kids table with kraft paper for a table cloth, centerpieces of candy and toys and these little activity books. This is just my first mock up, and it needs some tweaking (as well as some card stock rather than cheap printer paper) and some grey or marigold thread rather than the brown shown here, but I am pretty excited about them
They were easy to make and will end up being super cheap since they are just paper and thread!

I found all of the images on vecteezy and from google searches for wedding vectors and then tweaked each one to work for this project.

We will only have 5 or 6 kids there, but I want their parents to be able to enjoy the party! The kids range in age so some of the activities (connect the dots for example) are super simple, where others (word search) will take some reading skills
And that is a homemade word search, so you know.

For the final books I will pull the “draw us a picture” page to the inside back page and then just leave the back cover blank, probably with a little “made by heather” at the bottom or something. I will use my little perforator to perforate the page so that the kids can easily tear them out for us to keep.

Again, they need some work but all in all I am happy with how they will come out! Later I will post our program mock ups as well as our address label mock ups

This is adorable, I hope you don’t mind if I borrow your idea!
We did a kids table at our reception and it was a hit with both the kids and parents! As you mentioned, it allowed the parents to truly enjoy dinner/party while the kids were busy at their kid table! We filled the table with foam crafts (see below), activity book similar to yours (crayons) and candy. Even guests that didn’t have kids were raving about what a fabulous idea it was!
I purchased quite a bit of foam items (sunglasses, hats, tiaras, placemats, and stickers) from Michaels clearance section. I did a foam placemat for each child with their name spelled out in foam stickers. I then placed the activity book on each placemat. Finally, in the middle of the table placed in small metal bins, I had the candy, foam stickers, hats and tiaras!
Very cute! I used a template from a website because I’m not nearly as creative! I love the idea of them being able to rip out the page.
these are amazing, heather!
rachel: borrow away
This is in no way an original idea, however there were some super cheesy activity books out there so I made this one my own
bree: The foam stuff is such a great idea! I used to be in charge of crafts for the children’s ministry at church and I always used those foam crafts form michael’s
Great ideas! we are only having 3 or 4 kids and wanted to do something like this.
those are soooo cute! good job, the final version is going to be awesome!
These are DARLING!!! I would love to showcase these on LA Style Unveiled if you are open to it
We love fabulous ideas from local brides …
Adorable! I think we have any kids coming to our wedding in the right age range to realize the brilliance of this project. They’re either too young to hold a crayon, or just old enough to think they’re too cool for it.
Awesome job!
Oops, DON’T think
super cute idea!!
I love these! What a cute and creative idea!! I wish we had kids coming to the wedding so we could do something like this… I bet you will get lots of adorable pictures
and can I just say how much I love these! now only if we were having more than 2 kids at our wedding, it might be worth doing something like this.
LOVE THEM!!!!
