mock it up
So this past weekend I got started on some of my wedding projects that aren’t necessary for a few months, but I just couldn’t wait
The first of which is the kids activity book for during the reception. I plan on doing a full on kids table with kraft paper for a table cloth, centerpieces of candy and toys and these little activity books. This is just my first mock up, and it needs some tweaking (as well as some card stock rather than cheap printer paper) and some grey or marigold thread rather than the brown shown here, but I am pretty excited about them
They were easy to make and will end up being super cheap since they are just paper and thread!

I found all of the images on vecteezy and from google searches for wedding vectors and then tweaked each one to work for this project.

We will only have 5 or 6 kids there, but I want their parents to be able to enjoy the party! The kids range in age so some of the activities (connect the dots for example) are super simple, where others (word search) will take some reading skills
And that is a homemade word search, so you know.

For the final books I will pull the “draw us a picture” page to the inside back page and then just leave the back cover blank, probably with a little “made by heather” at the bottom or something. I will use my little perforator to perforate the page so that the kids can easily tear them out for us to keep.

Again, they need some work but all in all I am happy with how they will come out! Later I will post our program mock ups as well as our address label mock ups

doily love
What a fabulous idea for wrapping favors. Whether you fill it with hot chocolate, homemade jam, your dads famous brisket rub or maybe even a flower or two, the doily and bakers twine are simple and lovely.

real wedding, part 3
This wedding was on a boat, so getting some good light was difficult for the ceremony, but I believe the black and white images are gorgeous
You may recognize the couple down towards the end (hint: bridesmaids in cowboy boots), and the other guy is my photographer! And the last picture, well, it needs no explanation :) All photos taken by Matthew Morgan, and edited by me. Enjoy your weekend and I will see you on Monday!

real wedding, part 1
Good morning! Today’s real wedding is of a lovely couple, Dave and Megan, who got married on a boat! The bride was so casual yet elegant with everything from her shoes to her dress to her bouquet! This wedding was shot by the talented Matthew Morgan. Enjoy and check back later for parts 2 and 3

late
This is a late post, and The Office will be on soon, but I couldn’t resist posting this series of pictures. Mustaches have been all rage lately, and these groomsmen do it right
The couple works with middle school kids and I believe the two boys at the bottom are from that group. I love their mustache-less expressions! Images taken by the talented Matthew Morgan and edited by moi. The rest of the wedding will be up tomorrow!

handmade
One of my favorite blogs for handmade goodness is inchmark. Her latest valentines craft was for her kids class and is totally workable for wedding favors. How cute are these?!

She bought a bunch of matchstick boxes at the grocery store an emptied out the matches. All you need after that is some patterned paper, maybe some twine, and candy or a small gift and you are good to go! Easy, affordable and 100% personalized!
