veil
Saturday my mom, my sisters, my moms friend and I are going to LA to hit up the flower mart, the fabric store and the giant Michael’s-ish store. I am super excited. My mom will be looking for material for my veil
Today she sent me some pictures of veil pattern coers and I fell in love with the look of this one. Look at the little hat things. So old school. Me? I will be sticking with a cathedral length veil, simple, without lace or anything sparkly, and a blusher. Because for whatever reason I really want to have one

My mom’s veil — that I plan on wearing!! — is just like #3 above. I am 99% sure I will be detatching it from the “hat” as it is so funny looking and I plan to wear my hair up … but it so old school and great! How fun, veils!
I think the veil cap/hat is so cute, you could totally rock it by blinging it out with some rhinestones or mini sequins. These are totally making me rethink a veil.
I bought a cathedral and blusher from Etsy for only $40!! I LOVE it, and had a blast with it at my Bridal portrait. It’s cut edge, with no lace, pearls or anything fancy. It’s simple and perfect!
I love that your mom is making your veil…how sweet!
It’s the next thing on my list. I want it super full and over-the-top, of course. I wish my mom could make it!
I wish I knew someone who could make a veil! I decided in David’s Bridal the other night that it would be the best way to get that “exact” one that I’m looking for. There are so many different kinds/styles etc… but it’s so hard to just find that one that really does it for me.
Dawn, there’s an *awesome* veil tutorial on Wedding Bee, if you’re so inclined to give it the ol’ DIY try…

My matron of honor ordered her wedding veil from this website and it was beautiful and affordable — always a great combo.

Holy cow! My veil (my mom’s from 1978) is soooo similar to number 3 there! Craziness!
[...] My mom mentioned that she could probably make one so off we went to Joann’s. She found a pattern and we bought a bolt of tulle, a comb and a little bit of fabric to put over the comb. Once she [...]
