I just mailed off the florist deposit, wooohoooo!  Another thing on my mind…  fresh flowers on our cakes.  Since we won’t be having the traditional wedding cake, all decorated with sugary goodness, I am thinking a few fresh dahlias on each cake might really spruce things up :)

I love this idea! I’ve been contemplating clay dahlias or something like that for ours…if I even decide to go with cake. (I need to get better at making decisions – July 18 is coming soon!)

One thing to think about – our baker wouldn’t use fresh flowers on the cake for several reasons, the primary being that most flowers are grown with TONS of pesticides which can leach into the cake. She recommended sugar, paper or even silk flowers since they are far less toxic. Good luck!

That’s exactly what I’m doing. Dahlias tucked in between the baby cheesecakes. beautiful and delicious.
