lovely
These dresses aren’t mine, and I love mine, but these are just simply lovely.

(1st dress is by Monique Lhuillier, via Martha. 2nd dress is by the fabulous Jim Hjelm)

3 weeks
This past saturday marked 3 weeks to go
I am not stressing out yet, which is a good thing. I owe it all to being organized and getting so much done in the beginning. All I have to do now is put together the programs (they are already designed) and gather the rest of the items for the kids table (just some candy since I have slowly been buying things over the last year
). I have my hair trial on Friday, my mom made my veil last weekend, the florist picked up the mason jars today… things are pretty much done!
On a side note, Bryan and I were walking in San Clemente today and I noticed that this great little store that sells local, and not so local, artist’s wares was having a store closing sale. I stopped in just to see if there was anything I had to have and wouldn’t you know it, they were selling Paloma’s Nest stuff! I had never seen it in person and knew I just had to buy something (especially since it was 40% off
) They didn’t have any ring bearer bowls, which was fine because Bryan is against them anyways (I know), but I did buy a tiny text bowl that says ‘I love you’ to put on the entryway table to hold our rings

3 more weeks… I can’t wait!

real wedding #2
I know, 2 in 1 week! I just finished editing this wedding and it was sooo gorgeous! I love the bright and wild flowers, the fun bridesmaids pictures, the cake! and the pure joy on the happy couples faces. All shot by Matthew Morgan.

the guestbook that never was
We were originally going to do a blurb guestbook so I gathered a bunch of pictures and scanned a bunch of cards and such…
Well, we are doing a guest’frame’ thingy (with a poster rather than a picture) so there is no need for my ‘guestbook’ file
Here are some I particularly like:
Walking on the beach at Christmas time.

Walking around New York city, enjoying it and each other.

The inside of a card I made Bryan for his 30th. I took him to San Francisco
(our first trip involved food poisoning… no bueno
)

projects
With one month left I am quickly checking things off the list.
Gocco’d napkins… check.

Cake descriptions and bar menu (frames from ikea)… done.

Up next: programs and rehearsal dinner menu’s.
Also, I had one reader (hello!) ask about my shower thank you cards. Both the ‘thank you’ and the little kitchen icons at the bottom are fonts that I found at dafont.com. They have every type of font you could want, including lots of dingbats (the icons) and a lot of them are free. I hit up dafont before every project! I also have a photo printer, which allows me to print border less (although I did not need it for those cards) and I bought the paper (pure white 4 bar) at Paper Source. Being crafty is something that I got from my mother and I say that even if you didn’t grow up in a crafty household, you can do it too! Take classes (Michael’s offers them, as well as Paper Source and I am sure other places do too) buy craft books like Martha’s new one and just practice

the best shower ever
All of my maids were there:

My mom and sister made awesome favors. Little jars filled with Hershey hugs and kisses, decorated with doilies, string, stickers and feathers. Perfection. (inspiration taken from here)

We played games. The favorite being a version of “What is she wearing.” My mom attached a bunch of kitchen gadgets to an apron, I wore it around for a few minutes so everyone could see it and then the guests had two minutes to list everything they could. Fun fun!

A big thank you to all of my guests for the awesome gifts! (Your thank you cards are in the mail!) One of my favorite gifts: the Martha Stewart alphabet cookie cutters. I can’t wait to use them!

This past week it has really hit me, I am a bride! I don’t have too many more projects to do, which is good because I want to be project free the week before the wedding at least. This wedding is really happening people!
I want to say thank you to Samantha and Mom for throwing me an amazing shower, and to Harmony for being an awesome photographer!!

More shower pics to come, including the super cute favors, but I need to start my editing for the night so I will leave you with the digital image of the Thank You cards I just designed. I like them
