We Met in a Bar

better late than never

We received a nice surprise in the mail today, a late wedding present! So sweet, and such perfect timing for a crate and barrel gift card, considering we move this weekend!  I can’t stop staring at this lamp

I would like to put these little pinwheels all of my walls… perhaps one day in a nursery… yes, I think that is a great idea!

craigslist find

I scored this today from craigslist:

Picture 1

Our new kitchen was by far the largest we saw, but it still need a little extra room.  A little white paint and this will house plates, serving bowls, and will be a nice place to showcase my kitchen-aid mixer and my cook books!

With only one week till the move I am so excited. Excited to decorate, excited to move back to the small beach town I love, excited to get out of this apartment complex… and this island has just made that excitement grow.

Thanks craigslist. And Charlie for selling it to me!

poms

I love when I hear that my tutorial helped someone, and I love it even more when I get to see the outcome!

Laurel sent me these pictures and told me a little about the baby shower she threw:
“The shower was hosted at a pool-side cafe inside a Las Vegas resort hotel. We ended up using a few of the flower balls as table centerpieces, which I think worked out well. The shower theme was pink elephants with zebra print accents. The handmade invitation  featured a cute little elephant cut-out and the same zebra print ribbon we used to hang the flower balls. The theme also carried over with the cupcakes and cupcake toppers. I was originally going to only do dark pink & light pink flower balls, but ended making the orange ones to tie in the color scheme of the restaurant. So glad I did because the overall event looked so much more complete.”

sunshiny

I want… no I need this office.

wind hula office

So bright, so organized, so pretty. I wonder if bright yellow walls would go with our chocolate brown carpet… Hmm…

Office created by this Lady.

the villa

happy monday! (well, I post at night so it is still sunday… minor detail….)

This weekend was filled with photo editing (a real wedding I will share later on in the week), an event held at the mission,  our 3 month anniversary (!) and a trip to the Getty Villa with my mom and sisters. I had never been before, and it was the perfect weather for an outing.  Lunch and a little shopping in the Santa Monica Promenade finished off the trip.

happy weekend

Well lovely readers, we signed the lease for our new place!  Goodbye 1 bedroom Mission Viejo complex apartment, hello 2 bedroom Capistrano Beach duplex apartment! We are so excited!  And it definitely needs some love, so expect more than a few before and afters and a whole lot of inspiration searching here. (Um, taupe walls and dark chocolate carpet… I will need to consult my new domino book!)

This weekend brings the Getty Villa and The Vintage. A nice way to relax before the craziness of moving really sets in.

And because every post needs a pretty picture:
