today’s addition

My dad came over today to help me move our bbq from our old place to our new place. (Did I tell you we moved in on the 1st but don’t have to be out till the 15th? Yep, we get two weeks to move) (Also, did I tell you I took a few days off to get us settled? Cause I did.)

Anyways. While my dad was here he helped me (more like I helped him) put up our new shelf and bar!

I still need to think of some good things to go on the shelf…

Thanks dad!

not just for books anymore

My latest trip to ikea was a success, with one (of the many) items I bought being this Expedit bookcase.  I am in love with it. And I think we need another one to go under the window…

(don’t mind the matting on that New York poster… one of the many things on my to-do list right now…)

Welcome home

The past week has been crazy. But good crazy. Lots of moving. Lots of unpacking. Lots of shopping (Ikea, Target, BB&B, Lowes, even Wal-Mart)  I just got my computer set up so I apologize for the lack in posting.

Our new place is… awesome!  Yes, it has it’s downfalls. All of the cupboards/drawers close weird. There is a built in wine rack that I don’t know what to do with (and don’t say fill with wine!) (Edit: we also can’t take them out… boo for renting)  There is a funky smell that comes out of our hallway after we take a shower. The street is kind of loud. The cats don’t have a patio to go out on anymore.

But, it has a lot of perks as well. A lot. First, two bedrooms. Not one. But two!  We actually have an office! Also, I love love love love love living in this town again. It is where I grew up. It is where I went to elementary school (seriously, my old elementary school is down the block). I shop at the same grocery store as my mom now. I can’t wait to run into her by the Bud Light. (Hi mom!) I can see the ocean form my living room. We had to buy a new fridge, but it is nicer than our old fridge, so score!  I get to decorate. And I am having a heck of a good time doing it. The list really does go on and on. We are so happy here.  One of my favorite things about this place though… the light. The glorious light.

sshhh…

I ran out of white shelf liner…

And I may or may not have used the Country Apple theme liner (that the realtor left in the drawer) on the top shelves…

A little paint is all you need

Sorry for the mini-absence… we have been busy changing this

to this

(notice the mini TV. Had to root on the Yankees {only because the angels aren’t in it any more} any way we could!)

(I realize I kind of look pregnant in this picture. I’m not)

Stay tuned for lots more!
