We Met in a Bar

I am in need

of a sewing desk. Bryan and I can’t seem to decide on one for our office (he wants white, to match our other desks, I am leaning towards something older and more, well, wooden. If that makes sense).  And until we get a desk, I won’t be able to sew. But. As soon as we do get a desk I need to find an excuse to make some invitations, because I need to do something like this:

paper pony

Tulle, cupcake liners, paper…  gorgeous. Oh! Valentines day is next month… hmm… The ideas are a-flowin.  You can see more photos of Raya’s handmade invites on her blog, the paper pony.

On a side note, Brandy from Red Collar Prints has found herself with 2 of the sold out 2010 Linda and Harriet calendars.  She would like to offer you the $30 calendar for $20 plus shipping! Just contact her at brandy@redcollarprints.com. A lucky someone snagged it up!

i am SO right there with you on the need for a sewing desk. except, we have not an inch to spare in our little abode. i’ve been using our kitchen table, which is far from ideal, but it works better than nothing. hope you find JUST what you have in mind…something that both of you can agree on ;) perhaps a white wooden shabby chic sorta piece? good luck! and those invites are precious. make some. someone is bound to snatch them up if you do. and i’m sure your valentine would love a snazzy creation. you have many tricks up your sleeve, little woman! xo

I need one, too! And they are SO expensive! I got a sewing machine for Christmas and I’m just dying to use it. I will probably have to resort to the dining table for a bit, haha.

Love those invites!

I need one too! I’ve been cruising Craigslist for an old desk that maybe I can spruce up a bit. Maybe one we could paint white and add really cool drawer pulls to. Anywhoo, love those invites with the cupcake liners! I’m definitely saving that link.

Those invites are so pretty! They remind me of the ones I ordered–I love all things girly and frilly. I’ve been stressing about invites/save the dates for a couple of weeks so I’m so glad THAT’S behind us.

We had our place cards and invitations done by a calligrapher, but we were able to find a place online (Bachcroft) that printed all of our guests names onto clear address labels for about $40! Luckily they offered a typestyle that looks almost exactly like what is on our invitations.

I highly recommend that every couple with a budget check them out.
