Excited for blog it forward!

I received a few questions regarding a wooden piece I have in my living room, so I thought I would give it its own post.

This is my little reading nook. Although it needs a lamp, and a pouf, before any reading can actually be done there…  The green stand was made by my grandmothers father. My grandma used to have it standing up the other way, because the ‘bottom’ is carved out into a bowl which she kept houseplants in.  For now I will keep it this way, as it lends nicely to holding a few books.

I thought about painting it… maybe white, maybe something bold.  But for now the green works.  Oh and the chair is from World Market and the rug is from Urban Outfitters.

As you may or may not know, all the ladies in my wedding party rocked J. Crew.  So I may be a little biased. But I think all flower girls should get to wear these dresses. And with all of these dresses coming in under $100, there really is no excuse not to.

This has finally come out of it’s box and is sitting on…. our dinner table.

We are still looking for that perfect vintage metal desk (we determined that the tanker style would be too big for the apartment. Apparently the door frames get more and more narrow the further into the apartment you go) and we may still get an Ikea desk… but for now the dinner table will work. I have a trip to Joann’s planned for this weekend and hope to take my Singer on it’s maiden voyage very very soon.  I will keep you all updated!

Side note: Does anyone watch 18 Kids and Counting? Did you see their little baby Josie? Sooo incredibly tiny.

How cute are these new 90 calorie Cokes?!  I haven’t been buying soda lately (substituted it with Hanson’s drinks. Is it better for me? I am not sure, but it has fruit in the name so I am going to say yes.) but when I saw these at the store I couldn’t resist. Kind of like when I buy wine for the label…
