Monday’s and thumbprints
Does anyone else need another weekend? I do. Oh well, what can you do?
On to a happier topic, weddings! I have seen a new version of the guestbook popping up here and there and I wanted to get your opinion on it. It is the family tree/thumbprint version. Here are a few images I recently saw:

Did any of you do this at your wedding? Thinking about doing it? Been to a wedding that did it? It is super cute, and I am all for the guest books that you can frame! Obviously you would need to provide some type of wipe for guests, and make sure there are enough branches… but overall it seems like a great idea!
What do you think?

I’ve commissioned my brother to paint us a tree for our guest book. I think it’s gotten quite popular – I’ve seen it all over the interwebs, but I love my brother’s paintings and trees and families and family trees so it’s the perfect combo.
On one I saw recently, the guests signed their name right on the thumb print/leaf instead of around it. I’m not sure which way to go on that one.
Also I’d love to catch a photo of their green stained thumbs. It reminds me of the “I voted” ink-dipped fingers I’ve seen in other countries. I love it!
You know I love it. I’m totally doing this at my wedding!
We used this as a guest book at our wedding, and it was fantastic! Besides the fact that it looks awesome hanging over our couch, and serves as a great reminder of the support system that we are blessed with…it was fun on the night of the wedding. Our wedding was small….but our guests are still talking about what a cool idea it was, and how much they loved it! I will be posting details and images on my blog this week!
I’ve had some similar ones saved in my Etsy favs for a while now. Love tree’s and the idea of a frameable guest book!
Love the la la loves guestbook poster you did!
Very pretty! I love that idea… we have a guest list of 170 people… so I am not sure we’d have enough room for everyones prints and names. But I think it would be perfect for a smaller wedding.
Love the idea! I think I’ll recommend this to my newly-engaged friend. We had vintage albums that we love (Sinatra, Martin, etc.) and had our guests sign them with silver gel pens. Got the frames at Michael’s, and now we have them going up the stairway in our home.
I purchased the guest book tree – the one in the lower right hand corner. The Etsy seller did the colors, the size and the font I wanted and the price was excellent. We are getting married on 10/2/10 and this idea works great with our autumn-themed wedding. I am so excited about this!!
that is so cute! oh how I wish I had done a guestbook…
I am actually painting a tree myself! I will be blogging about that in the future

I was just looking around blogs for a good wedding stationary (http://papermilldirect.co.uk/wedding-stationery) then I stumble upon yours and I think I now have a good idea for my own wedding. I was actually thinking of making my own invitations. Im getting a lot of ideas on your blog. Thanks!
