We Met in a Bar

Off to the beach

Well, this bag will be off to the beach… once the sun decides to come out. July has proven to be a not so hot start to the summer.  I followed Holly’s tutorial, using canvas and a nice weight cotton. It took a lot longer than I expected (partly due to the interfacing, partly due to turning the handles right side out…) but I love it!  The top stitching isn’t perfect, and the sides don’t compleeeeetely match up, but it is exactly what I needed and I love the print. I can’t wait to fill it up with beach towels, magazines and snacks!

How cute! I love the fabric! I’ve been wanting to make a bag of some sort, and I might just use her tutorial.

I made a skirt this weekend – just out of muslin, to practice. My seams are a disgrace, but it does look like a skirt! ;) I’m trying a shirt next (another practice out of muslin) before I make something I can actually wear. It’s addicting, this sewing thing.
