We Met in a Bar

17 weeks

babybump-002

- According to my pregnancy app my baby is now about 5 ounces and can detect sounds like my heartbeat and the sound of my voice as it resonates through the body. (In case you are interested, I am using the pregnancy app Sprout, which cost $9.99 but it has been well worth it! It has the weekly updates, some of which are in 3D, it has notes on the mothers status each week and tools like an appointment planner/questionnaire, contraction timer and weight gain tracker.)

- At my 16 week appointment last week we were able to hear the heartbeat again and I got a prescription for my lovely pregnancy skin. Clear skin here I come!

- I officially have all of my energy back. Why hello there Mr. 10:00 PM.

- Last night I tried on every dress I own and am happy to say that most still fit and some even look cuter with the belly.

- We set up my 20 week appointment which is the BIG one where we get to find out the gender. I am counting down the days!

- I bought a prenatal yoga video last week. Kind of granola but it is better than nothing.

- No cravings yet, but I am still super hungry all of the time. Speaking of eating… I think I have some oreos calling my name.

Thanks ladies! I am enjoying this stage because so far it is just the bump (and this may be tmi, but bigger boobs! haha) Hoping I can stay slim throughout the pregnancy but I may need to kick it up a notch with the yoga video!

Apparently I have not read your blog in a while. Congrats!

Congrats! I’m a longtime reader. I am in my first trimester and am wondering what the dr prescribed you for your skin? I’m breaking out like mad and can’t stand it!

Diana: The bottle says Clindamycin Phosphate Gel USP, 1% and it is by Fougera, but I am not sure if that is the generic of it or not. It immediately cleared my skin or breakouts, however I am still splotchy. Apparently certain areas of your skin get darker when you are pregnant…. and this means your face too :(

Hey Heather,

Congrats from Daniel, Haizel, baby Ezell #2 on the way, and me!

We are expecting our #2 about 3 weeks or so after your baby is due. So neat that our little ones will be very close in age!

On another note, I’d like to make you a baby sling if you are interested in having one. I have made one for myself and am in the process of making another one for a friend of mine. Haizel liked it a lot from about 2 months to 11 months. She was a late crawler so as soon as she figured that one out she didn’t want anything to do with me strapping her in anymore! It was nice because I could still cook dinner and do laundry and the kind of stuff you need both hands for.

You can pick the print (somewhat, I don’t know how that’ll work from CA) and I’ll show you what they look like. I won’t be offended at all if you don’t want one or don’t like the pattern, so don’t worry about that! The one I make is called a Mei Tai and I have used that one, the long Moby wrap, and the over the shoulder pea in a pod type and I think I like the Mei Tai best for overall support. It’s easy to use and doesn’t dig in to your shoulders.

Amy Butler fabrics are great and we have a wide selection here so if there’s one of those you are interested in then it will be a piece of cake to get.

This is the website for the gal who created the pattern. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and look at the green one with the paisley and the coral/pink one. They are made from the pattern that she posts for free. I don’t particularly like the hood so I’m going to either not have it on there or try to make something that looks better when in use. Email me and I’ll show you a picture of what I’m talking about.

Again, congrats!!! We’re excited for you guys!!

Andrea
