We Met in a Bar

19 weeks

baby bump-003

baby bump-004

(I’m running out of spots to take these and we are only halfway there! I had to move furniture to stand in this spot. Light furniture, of course)

-I skipped week 18 because it looked a lot like week 17. Big week 18 step: I felt the baby move! At least, I think it was the baby. It is just these weird bubbles every now and then which is apparently what the first movements feel like.

- The baby is almost half a pound now and the size of a softball (or an heirloom tomato according to Baby Center).

- Still no crazy symptoms, just hungry. I have my energy back which means I can stay up till 10 PM! woo hoo! I have been getting really tight in the lower belly region which makes me think that this stomach is just gonna keep on growing!

- And although I was trying to wait as long as possible to buy maternity clothes… I now own a maternity pencil skirt (shown above, from Destination Maternity), 2 pairs of black maternity work pants (one from Target and then some super cute ones from Gap), and my maternity jeans that I splurged on (still totally worth it). It seems my waist was the first thing to go and literally none of my pre-pregnancy bottoms fit anymore.

- I have been more emotional these past two weeks. The other day I was watching Say Yes to the Dress while washing the dishes and started full on crying after one bride found her dress. I also started tearing up today in Target after seeing a mom lose her daughter in the store and then find her again. I cry easily anyways so I fear this is just going to get worse.

- Speaking of feelings, I continue to just feel so blessed for where I am in life right now. Ever since I can remember I have wanted to be married and having kids. And here I am, 26, newly married and pregnant. God is good, and has blessed me with this little family of mine. We continue to pray that little baby Harney will be healthy, which we will know more about next week at my 20 week ultrasound. We will also be finding out the sex, if the little thing cooperates! I feel like I am so excited to know the sex that it is going to keep those legs closed just to spite me. OR we will find out, start shopping and doing the nursery, and then find out later that the ultrasound was wrong! Oh man that would suck. I wonder how often that happens…

-Yay 19 weeks!

Love reading your blog. Congratulations on your lil’ baby bump. Pregnancy is such an exciting (and a bit stressful)& promising time. I loved being pregnant; well until I was about 3 weeks from my due date and HUGE, then I was over it. I hope the next 21 weeks is smooth sailing for the three of you!

number 1: LOVING the 19-week outfit! what a classy momma! black pencil skit and that super cute cardigan…LOVE. number 2: you look fantastic. really. you couldn’t be any more gorgeous. some people say that there’s nothing more beautiful than a pregnant woman…and well, in your case, that’s true. and number 3: (regarding your last paragraph) i, too, am so filled with gratitude. sometimes i just stop and think, “wow. i’m really LIVING this.” it’s very cool and God is good, indeed.

from one expanding waistline to another, love you!

1. I moved the furniture.

2. You cry every time you walk down the hallmark isle at the supermarket.

Heather, you look amazing! What a precious little bump, and what a blessing, indeed!

PS – This little bit of banter here between you & B cracked me up.
