2011!
2010 was a great year.
It brought me back together with a sewing machine.
It brought falling in love with chalkboard paint.
It brought a year anniversary to my favorite husband.
It brought the announcement of our little guy.
It brought traveling to new places in the world, Ireland and Scotland.
And it brought a growing growing belly.
I can’t wait to see what 2011 brings! At the very least I know it will bring us a little baby boy, so anything on top of that is just icing on the cake! Thank you so much for reading, commenting, sticking around… you guys make blogging worth it. So thank you, and Happy New Year!!!

homemade + charity + starbucks
This year I gifted certain people a little something that I think I will have to start doing every Christmas. For each person I donated one weeks worth of meals (You can do it here!) and then included a Starbucks gift card. I made little fabric envelopes out of some Christmas flannel fabric that I had and I must say, they turned out pretty cute!
I printed out little cards that explained the gift, and then used some of my lime green tape to reenforce the edges. I didn’t have a pattern or anything for the little fabric envelopes, and I went through a few practice ones before I got the proportions right. Starbucks was out of their Christmas themed cards, but the green mugs worked out perfectly! A long red ribbon finished out the pieces.

35 weeks
Well the rain has finally stopped and I had the day off so I figured it was a good time to get in a belly picture!
I can not believe that I am already at 35 weeks… where has the time gone? My belly just seems to get bigger and bigger every day. This little guy is a mover and loves to stretch out. Unfortunately for me that means some major discomfort now and then. At over 18″ long and about 5 1/2 pounds there isn’t much room for stretching that isn’t already taken up by things like, you know, the rest of my organs.
With that said, I still LOVE being pregnant. It is such a blessing and I thank God every day for this little life that He has allowed to grow inside of me. I am constantly in awe of how the body works. Even with the discomfort, I know that I will miss feeling his movements inside of me once he is born.
With only about a month to go I have a lot to do/figure out. When am I going to go on leave from work, what forms do I need to fill out in order to get disability pay, where are we going to put the glider and ottoman, do we have enough newborn sized clothes, who will our pediatrician be, and the list goes on. I am slowly checking things off the list though, and am confident that it will all get done/figured out by the time he arrives.

christmas tree
Our tree is a mix of store bought, handmade, and special meaning ornaments. I love the mix, and can’t wait for our little guy to start making them in school (you know, after he is born and everything) so that we can put them up!
The castle in Scotland where we scattered my grandparents ashes.
In memory of my grandparents, who had peacocks as pets.
Handmade by my sister.
Store bought, just because I liked it.
Made by my mom.
Gifted from my mother-in-law.

cards
I’ve been home sick the last few days so I took some time to finish a little project I had waiting.
I have had this plain, wood, glass-less frame for probably over two years, just waiting to be beautified. I finally got around to asking Bryan to paint it white for me and then I had my mom use her staple gun to attach the ribbons. It will be used for Christmas cards right now and then will move into the nursery to hold pictures, cards, whatever!

holiday wear
We have a holiday party to go to on Saturday and I am at a loss as to what to wear. With only 6 weeks left till this little guy makes an appearance it seems silly to purchase a new dress, however I don’t want to just throw on anything and say “what? I’m pregnant!” If there a TopShop or a brick and mortar ASOS here I would be sooo tempted to buy these little numbers.

save the date
Recently I designed these Save the Dates for my lovely friend Natalie. I love how they turned out and can’t wait to do the invitations!!
The best part: my little sister hand drew the succulents and peonies for me, then I imported them into Illustrator and digitized them. Thanks Megan!!
