It is so hot today! 70′s here at the beach = diapers only in this house.

My mom gifted me with this gorgeous cake stand for my birthday. Now I just need to bake a cake to put on it!

A Madewell store just opened near me and um… I’m in love. I was good and just picked up one (perfect) dress, but I would have taken one of everything if I could have.

We have a much happier baby today. Woo hoo!

It is hard to believe it  has already been two months. Each week has been so different, he grows and changes so quickly! Weeks 6 and 7 were hard. Really hard. He became constantly fussy, was eating every 1-2 hours day and night… it was not fun. There was the worry that he might have colic, but I think we can rule that out now. A book my mom bought us said that weeks 6-8 mark the average baby’s crying peak, which makes sense with Declan. This past week he has been much better! Still fussy at times, but there are more happy times, more smiles and more quiet! He now will lay on his play mat for 10-20 minutes without crying, which is huge because he used to cry the moment I put him down! He absolutely loves naked baby time and his favorite place in the whole house is his changing table. We are trying to find a way to convert it into a crib…

He had his 2 month appointment yesterday and is a healthy 12 pounds! His weight gain has slowed a bit but he is till in the 80th percentile. He is a champion eater and is learning to take a bottle (of pumped milk). My mom has watched and fed him while I had my 6 week check up, when we went out to dinner with my in-laws and for my follow up appointment. We also gave him a bottle in the car on our first family road trip this past weekend!  The team Bryan coaches was in a tournament up in Carmel which is about 6 hours north of us. Declan and I tagged along and I am so glad we did! I have family in Half Moon Bay and in San Luis Obispo and it worked out that we got to see them all! They were very excited to meet Declan. On Saturday we went to the Monterey Aquarium, which is where I picked up that super cute otter toy in the picture!

I can’t believe he is two months already, but I have to say I am glad the time is behind us and I can’t wait for month 3!!

Poor baby got a few shots today at his 2 month appointment. We’ve been napping on the couch since this morning. Week 8 picture will have to wait until tomorrow.

Thank you for all of the birthday wishes! We celebrated with my parents and Bryan’s, some take out Italian and funfettie cupcakes. Bryan’s dad’s birthday was the 18th so the 4 of us went to dinner at our favorite restaurant, Vine, while my parents baby sat Declan. All in all it was a pretty good birthday!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day, and happy 27th birthday to me!
