Give life
Gave blood for the first time today. Currently enjoying some cheez-its and looking forward to lunch! It wasn’t so bad.

Christening
A few images from Declan’s christening last weekend. It was a wonderful day, followed by a whirlwind of a week in the city. More pictures to come of some of the highlights, including walking the High Line, gorgeous fall leaves, and of course my little guy!
Happy Monday!

Sleeping : Flea market
I’m currently sitting in the car, in the garage, not wanting to risk waking the baby in the car seat next to me. Browsing through old photos of a pop-up flea market my mom and I went to last month, I found these. My mom took home the crate, and if I had a garden I would have snatched up those chairs!

Rainy day activities
After two (awesome) crazy days in the city and a christening, we are spending some of this rainy New York day at the Staten Island children’s museum. Perfect.

New York city
Just finished up a day in the city with Bryan, baby, my sister Megan and brother in law Brendan. Highlights were the highline, times square and the pulled pork sandwich at Heartland Brewery. Tomorrow my baby gets christened!

Crafty ladies
I attribute all of my craftiness to my mom. She was always creating things. Whether sewing us dresses, painting bird houses, making wreathes, sewing halloween costumes, drawing summer calendars… whatever it was she hand made it. I am proud to say that she has recently started her own line of cross stitch patterns and kits! My parents camp. A lot. So my mom has turned her love for camping and her love for creating into a business. Please check out her etsy store! These patterns and kits are perfect as stocking stuffers for the crafty camper in your life! She is adding new ones every week (a Yosemite one is in the works!) so be sure to check back.
And speaking of etsy stores, stop by mine and pick up a set of vintage fabric cards! Perfect for a Thanksgiving Hostess thank you note.

Scotland on canvas
Happy Monday! I hope you had a fun filled weekend! I spent most of Saturday at a conference for work (blah) and then Sunday buying a new stroller for our trip to New York at the end of the week and a trip to Target. Declan is on cold #3 and we are crossing our fingers it goes away before our flight on Friday! Speaking of which, do you have any tips on being in New York with a baby?! Whether you live there or have visited, what made your life easier (or more difficult) when seeing the city with your wee one?
Our last real trip was last summer when we went to Ireland and then Scotland. I have a million pictures but had yet to commit to printing and hanging any until I got an email from Melissa over at Easy Canvas Prints. Now, my blog isn’t huge, I still have my day job obviously, but once in a while I will get companies who want to do a trade of merchandise or money for a link. I usually say no, as I want to keep some integrity in this space and the companies are ones I wouldn’t normally use. But I couldn’t say no to a canvas print, as it was something I actually wanted and could put to use! So I agreed and minutes later was on their site uploading my photo. It was super easy and within a week I opened up my new canvas!
I took this picture in the town of Crail, Scotland and love it. The canvas turned out beautifully and I will definitely be ordering more from them! Use the link to the right to start creating your own canvas print!

For the record
Putting this out there so that in case it never happens again I will have record that it did, at least once. Declan slept in his crib for 11 hours straight last night. My little man is growing up!
