I am thoroughly enjoying this long weekend and hope you are too!  I wanted to give a quick shout out to my mom who just opened up an etsy store with all of her vintage finds! Right now it is all books, but she will be adding more items soon. Check it out!

This morning I was going through a book on power point presentations and how to make them exciting. Impossible, I know.

I came across this picture and for whatever reason it really stuck with me. It applies to life in every way, really.

The audience is the hero. That’s (yoda) you!

Stay with me here. It is all about empowering your audience. For the purposes of the book it was a literal audience. But for me, it is about empowering the people around you. Your husband, kids, coworkers, everyone. Empowering them to fulfill their dreams, to be their own heros. To be the quiet wise voice in the background guiding them to their goals. Today I am thankful for life lessons found in unexpected places.

Lots to be thankful for this weekend, including my sister graduating from college! We celebrated with family and friends yesterday and I will post some pictures tomorrow. For now, some snapshots of things I am thankful for.

Today I am thankful for sunshine and clear skies. Enjoying some leftovers and some reading (the doula book) in my car on my lunch break.

Bright green pants + polka dots and simple meals.

Tonight I am thankful for being able to call this beautiful town home.

Happy Mothers Day to all of you mamas out there! This was quite the weekend. Saturday I got together with some dear friends to catch up on life. There were four wee ones and one on the way; we have come a long way from elementary school! Then I was off to get my hair done and I treated myself to a pedicure. Sometimes a mama just needs some pampering, and this weekend was the perfect excuse. Today we headed up to my grandmothers house for breakfast to celebrate motherhood. The little guy was worn out and fell asleep while we ate. He is such a sweetheart!! I hope all of you had a wonderful weekend!
This weekend I am thankful for good friends and for the pleasure of being Declan’s mom. It’s a tough job but I feel blessed each day that I get to call him my own.

Today I am thankful for Fridays and cocktails. Have a great weekend, and happy mothers day to all you mamas out there!

Thankful for bath time today. The little dude’s feeling much better and we are enjoying a game of toss with his foam letters. Hoping he sleeps in his crib tonight… He’s a lot bigger than he used to be and even a king size bed doesn’t seems to fit us all (especially when a certain someone sleeps sideways… Ahem.).

Today I am thankful for my mini lacrosse player. I stayed home with him today, seems like a fever went around daycare and the poor guy has been down for the count since Monday afternoon. This was a rare moment of alertness.
