real wedding and real talent

My long time friend Jessie got married a few months back (Yaaay!) and I have been meaning to do a post of her pictures, but I just kept getting busy.  So this morning when I saw on facebook that she had put some new items on her etsy shop I figured now was a good time to do a double header!

Jessie is a Southern California girl who fell in love with a (very tall) Swedish basketball player. She travels with him and when they aren’t traveling they are in Sweden. All of this time has given her a chance to work on some side projects, sewing being one of them. And oh. my. Lord. Go check out her etsy shop before everything sells out!

A yoga mat bag.

Place mats with a built in chopsticks holder! (ok, so between this morning when I grabbed the picture from her etsy and right now, these have sold out….  I am sure you can request some though!)

She also has pillows and aprons… all in the most fun fabrics!  Go check it out!

Now on to her wedding. Want to know something cool? They got married in Sweden, so… as to not disappoint all of their family and friends who couldn’t make the trip, they had a live feed going! I got to watch the whole thing from right here in front of my computer!  It was awesome! All images (except for the shoes, which were shot by a freind, were actually shot by an actions sports photographer! Check out his site!

She was rockin the J. Crew dress (The Whitney) and shoes!!

So gorgeous!  She also has a blog , which I have a link to over on the right, Meditations of a Wallflower. She posts cooking stuff, home decorating stuff, life stuff…  She is pretty much awesome.  Congrats Jessie and Fred!!!

baking par-tay

I saw these adorable cupcake liners a while ago at Cupcake Social and thought to myself, ‘those would be nice to have.’

And then Kristina pointed me to Bake it Pretty and oh.my.Lord.  I need to have a baking party. Like, now.  This very small sample of what you can get does not even do the site justice. You have to go and see it all.

I think the twisties are my favorite…  or the ballerina toppers… or the peanut bags…

Man Jewelry

Happy Monday :)  I want to say a quick thank you to all the girls who have given me awards and such lately. I appreciate all of you guys!  I love seeing all the new blogs pop up. We have definitely hit wedding season and a lot of brides that I follow have gotten married or are getting married, and a whole new batch of bridal bloggers is popping up. If you are a new blogger please leave a comment with a link to your blog, I would love to see it!

So, Bryan’s ring came in the other day!

We went with a Titanium ring that I bought from Etsy seller Zoe and Doyle. It is a little thinner than this one:

At first I felt weird about buying his ring online.  I would have rather bought it from a well known store, but the selection for mens rings was never very extensive, and their titanium rings cost upwards of $250.  We knew we wanted Titanium, because of how light it is so I went onto etsy and started looking around.  I bought Bryan’s for $60, which I figured was cheap enough that if we got it and it wasn’t good quality, or that if in 3 years he decided he didn’t like it anymore, I could just buy him a new one.  Luckily, it is of great quality and he really seems to like it! Plus it is supporting a person doing what they love, rather than a big box store :)  If you are still looking your your guys ring I definitely recommend Zoe and Doyle.  Here are a few more of their rings:

oh to be a bride

This came in the mail today!

I’m not gonna lie, it is extremely sheer.  But I love it and can’t wait to wear it while getting ready!  Get yours (Or your bridesmaids) here.

new

This past week was full of packages arriving :)

My hair pieces from handle & spout:

Our labels from Stuck, to be used on our favor bags:

And our “guestbook frame” print from Sparkle Power. Why is it in my cubicle? Because I didn’t measure the frame we are putting it in and thought that the 8.5″x11″ would be perfect, but really we need the 11″x17″. I just ordered the new one today. Good thing they are cheap!

I also went by the post office for some 44¢ stamps and picked myself up some of these lovelies.  I only wish they were each 22¢ so I could use them together!

Shopping for wedding stuff is fun!

in need of…

… a poster to go inside a frame for our “guestbook”. Some people do engagement pictures, we do posters. Bryan said we should design our own… which we are more than capable of doing. But you know what else I am capable of doing? Buying things online, like this :)

activity books!!

Update: You can now download a generic version of my activity books here!

Happy  Monday!  It is a new day, a new week and I have a new attitude! God has blessed me with this job and I need to start seeing it as the blessing that it is rather than something bringing me down.  I am going to plan out dinners and try to walk on my lunch breaks to get energy.  I am going to make the best out of the situation I am in. I am so blessed to even have a job right now, I know others haven’t had the same luck.  For what it is worth, if you are looking for a job right now and haven’t visited a staffing agency I would recommend going to one. Apple One got me the interview at my company :)

These took forever for me to post, sorry!  They were fun to make and a breeze to put together. I can’t wait to see the kids use them!

I used italian cotton ribbon from this etsy seller to bind the books.

The back cover is perforated for them to tear out so we can keep the picture or note they make for us.  I am preparing myself for the reality that not all the kids will do this, but that’s ok :)

I hope the kiddos like them as much as I do!

cubicle

I showed you where I work when I am at home, and now you get to see where I work when I am at work :)  The space still needs a few things though…

I think I may have to purchase a few of these lovely additions…

(1. Diamond Push Pins, 2. File Folders, 3. Gorgeous Photo, 4. Fabric Magnets, 5. Print)

501

I always tell myself I will do a contest or something fun for my big posts. Well, turns out the veil post was number 500. woo hoo. :)

anyways, this is number 501 (yay!) and it is all about the maids. Kind of.

I am struggling over what to get my bridesmaids. Jewelry? A clutch? If it was me I would want personalized letter-pressed stationary. But that is just me. And apparently not everyone is infatuated with letterpress (I know, I was surprised too).  I’ve got a pretty good list going on my wishpot right about now. You can see it here. Some of my favorite choices right now are…

So many choices… Wishpot is great for making lists like these. I also have lists for me, around the house, things to wear (yes it is all J. Crew, I know :) ). It is good for lists. Although I will say it isn’t the best for using as a wish list/registry type of thing because you have to be a registered member in order to have it pop up that you purchased anything. Or something like that. We will just say that I got the same sweater from both my mother and my future mother in law because one of them wasn’t a registered member so she couldn’t see that it had been bought. Or something like that. Whatever. Basically, it is WONDERFUL for making lists :)
