If I created the world…
A while back, after seeing this post, a friend of our gave us two old school globes.

Bryan, being a history major and all, was a little against them because they have countries that are no longer correct. So I thought, you know what would be cool? To paint them with chalkboard paint! Seriously guys, I had this thought about 3 days before this chalkboard globe made the rounds! My idea was now confirmed as awesome so this weekend I made it happen.

Two coats and one (sad) USA vs Ghana game later:

We might attempt to draw the continents (you can easily see the mountain ranges for a little guidance) but I kind of like the idea of our future children creating their own worlds on there.

bed
I am loving these new sheets from West Elm! (Not to mention the wall color)

However my bedroom still longs for the striped ones.

bright and cheery
To balance out today’s June Gloom I have this bright and cheery nursery to share! I love the colors, which can easily go from boy to girl with just a few pillow changes for those who keep gender a surprise.

Friday!
Happy Friday! Have you seen the summer issue of Lonny yet? Right now I am loving this image of a nursery. That little open air ‘closet’ is such a great idea for families who don’t have an entire extra closet for their little one!

new
Urban Outfitters just added a ton of new stuff, with two of my favorites being the barnacle vase and the pennant bedding.

dollar bins!
I admit to be addicted to the dollar bins at Target. They suck you in with their magical powers, I swear. And don’t be fooled by the mini toys and candy, there is usually some great stuff stuffed in there. Three of my purchases today:

(white vase – $1.50)

(galvanized bins – $1.00 each How perfect would these be filled with succulents as a centerpiece for your reception?!)

(8 nautical greeting cards – $1.00)

waiting for summer
I can’t wait for the warm days of summer. April-June is such a tease… 80 degrees one day, raining the next. My succulents are ready. (Hanging box from UO, white pots from Ikea)
