peacocks
I never did understand why peacocks were in zoos. Why? Because my grandparents raised them, in their backyard. Heck. Yes. You want proof?

So when I got my bridal shower invite in the mail and it was peacock themed, well, I was excited to say the least
My mom and sister handmade these. Now you see where I get my creativity from!

The awesome stamps.

Thanks mom! Thanks Sam! I can’t wait!!
PS they also had chickens and sheep
It’s kind of hard to see but that is my mom feeding the sheep in the lower right corner.

rehearsal
I sent out our rehearsal “invites” today! I say “invites” because the only people at the rehearsal will be the people who are in the wedding so they can’t really turn down the invitation
I kept it in the colors of the wedding but changed up the font and had a little fun with it

the suite.
Is it weird that I am nervous to put these out here, for all to see? I hope you guys like these as much as I do! Here is everything, well, everything but the directions card. It wasn’t very interesting anyways
Everything was designed by me and printed here at my home. All paper was bought at Paper Source and the ribbon is from this etsy seller.
The first picture was taken a little while ago and unfortunately I don’t have another label to reshoot with. It is a boring picture but I wanted to show you how the front of the envelope looked.

Well, there you go! I absolutely love how they came out. I am proud of them, and am happy that I was able to save us a TON of money by doing these ourselves.
Be sure to keep coming by this week. I will be posting our rehearsal invitations, the bridal shower invitations my mom and sister made as well as a little details about my love-hate relationship with those wrap around labels
I hope you enjoyed your weekend!

sneak peak 2
I want to get some better pictures of my invitation suite for you which means waiting until this weekend so that I can get some good light in the apartment. Here is another little sneak peak. A digital image of our Save the Date, Invitation and the front of the RSVP card. I must have changed the design of the elements a million times, but after all is said and done I am 100% happy with how everything came out. (And no, you can’t click to make it bigger. I didn’t want to have to blur out/change the details and you can still get the gist of it at this size
)

yaaay!
We got our first RSVP back today ! (And it wasn’t from my mother! we were surprised
) 1 down, 50 to go. Here is another sneak peak of the invite suite getting ready to go in the envelope. I will post the whole thing next week once I am sure everyone got theirs.

Have a great weekend!

hmmmm…
So… I am SUPER excited about how our wedding is turning out.
However. I am in love with this one, and it is super similar, but a little more chic. But then again, chic is not what we are going for. We are going for simple, fun, clean, bright and happy. But if we wanted chic, this entire wedding would be in my inspiration folder!

clusters and sneak peaks
I love how Whitney of Darling Dexter clustered her globe lights. Very nice.

And we sent out our invites today! Here is a sneak peak
I will show you the entire suite next week.

in need of…
… a poster to go inside a frame for our “guestbook”. Some people do engagement pictures, we do posters. Bryan said we should design our own… which we are more than capable of doing. But you know what else I am capable of doing? Buying things online, like this

(buy it here)

gorgeous
I came upon this invitation designer, as well as her blog, and I am blown away. Love the look of these gorgeous invitations!

I still haven’t found a paper worthy of being my envelope liners… these take my breath away. My thoughts… getting our names in the exact middle may prove to be too stressful then it is worth. Hmm…

Progress
With 3 months to go I am in full on DIY mode. Not a day goes by that I don’t fold a few tissue paper flowers or open my ‘To-Do’ list. I am not going to lie, I feel a little stress, but only because this is really happening and there are things that need to get done. I try and remind myself that if I were to not do a single thing from today until July 18th, I would still have a dress that fits, a priest to marry us, and a restaurant to feed us. Basically, no matter what, the basics are done, taken care of, nothing to worry about. It is things like decorations and the little details that only myself and a few others will notice that I am worrying about now.
This weekend involved working on a few different wedding projects.
Testing out different mixtures of my ink to find just the right color for the napkins:

Folding a ton of tissue paper flowers and photographing it along the way (once I complete one I will do a how-to post
) :

Aaaand, we went to Paper Source to get the paper for our invitations! I printed the invites and the RSVP’s. All that is left is the directions card and labels and we will be set! I have given myself a May 1st deadline for getting them done… We will see how that goes

How was your weekend?! Productive? Lazy? Busy? I vote for 3 day weekends every weekend… I am pretty sure no matter how your weekend went, you wish you had just one more day, I know I do
