clusters and sneak peaks

I love how Whitney of Darling Dexter clustered her globe lights. Very nice.

And we sent out our invites today!  Here is a sneak peak :) I will show you the entire suite next week.

Weekend.

What. a. week.  Sorry for the lack of posts at the end of last week. Wednesday night I went straight from work to an Angel’s game to see my man get presented an award on the field (!), Thursday was dinner with the family and Friday night was the rehearsal dinner for my friends Saturday wedding! The wedding turned out gorgeous, and was so much fun!  Two things I took away from it though: 1. Hire at least a day of coordinator.  The groom produces events for a living so they had most of it under control, but for things like getting the ceremony started and doing the grand entrance, having one person in charge would have smoothed thing along a bit. and 2. bring a dress to change into, even if you don’t plan on changing. Lauren’s bustle broke halfway through the ceremony and if it wasn’t for the little dress she had brought to drive away in I think she might have ripped off her own train!!!  And with that, a few pictures form the event :)

First, the guestbook I made for her wedding shower, finally completed with images from the shower and a few from Vegas :)

Lauren getting dressed. Her photographer wasn’t going to be there while she got dressed so I kind of took over and did the best I could :)

Driving to the site with her dad in an awesome car.

Both the ceremony and the reception were held at the Ole Hanson Beach Club in San Clemente and it was just gorgeous! The grooms company, TGIS, put everything together, including this lounge that they had set up at the reception.

An awesome ‘tree’ on one of the food station tables.  Rather than a sit down dinner they had a kind of glorified cocktail party with food stations serving things like mini pot roast in a martini glass. Delicious! The best food by far though were the chicken enchilada popsicles. Mmmmmmm.

I spent the day with a slight headache (open bar+another bar on the way home= trouble) but we did manage to buy ourselves a little travel book for our honeymoon :)  We thought we were going to go to Vancouver but changed our minds… I will reveal the destination this week because I will need some advice on things!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

thoughts

So as I sat here printing 175 save the dates (which came out great if I might add, Meghan I am talking to you!) I caught up on all of my blogging. Oh how I have missed the inspiration!!! So for todays post, bringing us into the weekend, I will post some of my thoughts and inspirations :)  In no particular order, here we go.

1. This girl has my dress :) well, the original that davids bridal kindly copied and sold to me at a much lower price :) You can go here to see more pictures of it in full (bryan hasn’t seen it yet) and to admire the amazing work of amelia lyon!

2.  My current favorites at J. Crew.  I went in today holding a gift card from my dear Natalie and walked out with the most perfect black work pants ever. ever. Clockwise form left: Mom, I think you would look good in this for the wedding :) .  I think this would look great on me at the wedding. I need a new pair of Jack Purcells because mine died. Those pants look comfy.

3. I can’t stop looking at this. The colors are amazing. Seen here.

4. These flowers are gorgeous too. I may just have to add pink to our color palette (Update, Bryan says no… hmm…) . From here.

5. I think this is the perfect thing to go in my hair. Love it. Love the pearls, the feather, everything.

There you go, my thoughts for the day. More like my thoughts for the week. Next week I promise to have pictures of my finished kids activity books and the save the dates I just finished. Promise. Have a happy weekend :)

real wedding, Chris and Kevin

I am in love with the florals from this wedding, but I have no idea who did them! Oh well, they are still gorgeous to look at! I love the red jewel flower in her bouquet! And the centerpieces… gorgeous! All images by Matthew Morgan!

edit: I just previewed this post and noticed that I used an exclamation point after every sentence in the above paragraph… hmm…  I think it is because I am so excited to be blogging, I miss you guys! This whole job things is great and all, but since I am still new, and in a cubicle where anyone can come up behind me and see what I am doing, blogging at work is not happening. I barely even get to read any! It is the highlight of my night to come home and read all my blogs! So, yeah, anyways, I miss you all :)

update: Some vendor info from the bride:  florist: Kim Sanders, Art With Nature Designs;  makeup and hair: Molly and Dottie, Cheek Couture; and, of course, Matthew Morgan Photography.

real wedding: stephan and ronna, part 3

A cheesecake buffet and a bubbly exit, what a lovely way to end a wedding!  I hope you enjoyed all of the pictures :) They were all shot by Matthew Morgan and edited by me.  Enjoy your weekend! I know I will, especially cause I GOT A JOB!!!!!!  yaay! I start on Tuesday and am so excited! It is such a blessing from God because I know that there are a lot of other people out there still looking. For what it is worth I only found this one by going through a staffing agency! Anyways, I am excited :) Happy Friday!

busy busy

Hello! Sorry for the lack of posting today, I have been busy busy :) I had an interview today (crossing my fingers) and next it is grocery shopping (yay for ralph’s coupons!!) and maybe buying a new trash can at bed bath and beyond (thanks for the gift cert. future in laws!). I know, an exciting day. So what I will leave you with is a little preview to a real wedding coming up, one that involved… you ready? RAIN. Yep, out of the like, 2 days a year it rains this girls wedding day was one of them. But they never stopped smiling! I will post the entire thing later on, and you don’t want to miss it! It involves rain, black and white mix matched bridesmaid dresses, a cheesecake buffet and bubbles :) Images by Matthew Morgan.

real wedding, part 3

This wedding was on a boat, so getting some good light was difficult for the ceremony, but I believe the black and white images are gorgeous :) You may recognize the couple down towards the end (hint: bridesmaids in cowboy boots), and the other guy is my photographer! And the last picture, well, it needs no explanation :)  All photos taken by Matthew Morgan, and edited by me.  Enjoy your weekend and I will see you on Monday!
