shoes shoes and more shoes
Ok, so I know that I found the perfect shoes at J. Crew. However, I think I was trying to be more stylish than i really am (and can really afford
) When I think of my wedding shoes, I think of pretty, girly, shiny, strappy shoes. I ordered 3 pairs from Zappos a few weeks ago, and all that that helped was I figured out gold is best. I just received email confirmation that they have received my shoes back, and are crediting my account which means.. time for more shoes
I found all of these on endless.com.
Update: I bought the third pair and another pair not shown here. I will let you know how they work out

Time to shop!

really?
Is it that hard to find shoes? Apparently. I know I found the perfect marigold + feathers shoes from J. Crew. I know. But the minor detail of their price… has led me to look for alternatives. Last week I ordered 3 pairs of shoes from Zappos (love them!) and none of them worked. We did however find out some good stuff: white shoes are a no-no. Silver shoes are ok. Gold shoes look best. I really liked these:

But alas they were a half size too big so they are on their way back with the other pairs to Zappos. And of course no where sells them in an 8. Lots of 8.5’s… but not a single 8. So the hunt continues.
In more exciting wedding news (depending on which one of us you talk to), we are officially registered for our Catholic engagement encounter weekend
Although I am pretty sure there will be some random parts to the weekend (practicing our ‘wedding kiss’ in a room full of other engaged couples doing the same, for example) I am also very hopeful that the weekend will teach us new things about ourselves individually and as a couple. I have heard nothing but good things about pre marriage counseling, both catholic and not, so I am looking forward to it. Any of you going to this sort of weekend before your big day? Have you already done it? I would love to hear your feedback/experience/opinion

I said a while ago that I was helping out a photographer friend of mine with his editing (yay for having a growing wedding photography business and needing to enlist help!) Well he just posted a few of the weddings I helped with on his blog
Here are some of my favorites.

i need…

… wedding shoes. I know I have a while, but I can’t get the dress altered until I get shoes. Another thought swimming in my head right now, alter for a sweetheart neckline? Right now the dress kind of makes my boobs look pointy… hmmm…
UPDATE: haha so I am just now looking at pictures of my dress, and it kind of already has a sweetheart neckline! haha shows how good I know my own dress! the boobs still kind of look pointy though. Bryan, if you are reading this, don’t click on this link to my dress!

my kind of lunch break
September is birthday month for me. It isn’t my birthday, mine is in March, but it is 4 friends birthdays, one cousin’s and my mothers. Yesterday was one of the friends birthdays, so naturally I stopped in the mall across the street to get her something. Well, who would have thought, the moment I walked in the mall I forgot all about said gift and remembered that I needed new black work pants! Now, I hate shopping for black work pants. They don’t fit. Ever. I have owned two in my entire life, both from random little shops and were of low quality. Well I was determined this time. Gap? Didn’t fit. Express? Nope. Banana Republic? Nada. The only place left was J. Crew. I had never tried on their pants, because I couldn’t afford them… but this time I was desperate. I grab my sizes and head in. Imagine my surprise when… they fit! I had to stand there for 10 minutes to make sure that they really fit, and it wasn’t one of those times when I just wanted something so badly that I told myself they fit, only to get home and find out that they really don’t fit. (Do you do that too? I’m known for it)
This turned out to be a really long introduction to my story today (no, what you read was not the story) but i found new pants that fit, and I walked out with this skirt, which is still full price online but in the store it was marked down, plus 20% off, so I pretty much had to buy it:

Ok, so onto the real reason for this post. As I was perusing the mall, I saw that the new Kate Spade store had just opened! It was glorious. I can’t afford it, but that didn’t stop me from checking out these beauties:

Another store to tempt me… I smell trouble. Oh, and by the way, I did get my friend a gift… a gift card on my way out of Nordstrom. What can I say, she loves shopping too, and gift cards are a girls best friend

it’s shoe shopping time!

First the bad news: I have to get my dress hemmed. Not the end of the world, but I don’t have a seamstress, and it is lace, so I am kind of worried.
Now the good news: Since no matter what I need to get it hemmed, I can start looking for shoes without worrying about if the heel is high enough! I will wear a high heel anyways, but now I can look at shoes with, say, a 3 1/2 inch heel rather than only 4 inch heels! Here are the ones I am currently looking at:
